dot.com bubble2.0
sometimes you are flattered by some business models. in an article on derstandard.at christian lutz presented their new project (lutz built up two of the biggest online communities in austria - sms.at and uboot.com). name of the project: fatfoogoo. Business model: people can sell and buy virtual items inside MMORPG’s. What strikes me as the most incrompehensible fact is: No successfull...

tumblr, pownce ...
soon there will be millions of these things around. got to try pownce for a bit, quite an hyped product but to me it doesnt really live up to the promise. it has a nice syndication feature, but i am a bit disappointed by the AIR(tm) based desktop tool.  Major gripes for me: posting messages results in walls of texts as it ignores linebreaks if you delete posts/links/files in it they stay in the...

Javascript: Event.stop() →
unfortunately i found this functionality later than i needed it. In an effort to try to re-implement a google mail like To: Picker for an Adress Box consisting of an Textarea, i would have needed this functionality.  The problem was: whenever the user pressed enter, he would select the picked adress, but the enter keycode would go through the javascript event handler and  result in a newline...

In case you don’t already know, windowed controls in IE will always cover DHTML layers.  That means if you have a DIV that pops up or floats on the page and it intersects with a windowed control (such as the...

sudo gem install god
It was about time that god comes to linux. However at the moment god is only monitoring your server processes. But claimed by the developers god comes with a config file that makes sense (what else, it’s god’s config file).  http://god.rubyforge.org/

The Psychology of Facebook Examined →
This Slashdot Link is an link (to maybe an link) of an article dealing with the Psychology behind Facebook users. An interesting Discovery made: showing of how many virtual friends seems to make people happy (if they got many friends) and unhappy (if they have not so many friends). Myself, i have not so many friends, as i just used it to check out the features, just like i did with this tumblr...

and this reminescence
brought me right over to check out what has become of blackbox.net. Back in the days this was my first ever created email-account with dial-in possibilities. The university of Fine Arts didnt provide e-mail service to their students back then. So *shiver* this has become of blackbox.
